Fred Krakowiak

Fred Krakowiak is recognized as a leading wildlife artist, author, safari expert, and engaging speaker. With over twenty-five years of conventional study in a variety of mediums, he prides himself in bringing the viewer into the painting by filling in the missing details with their imagination and experiencing the power of passion at that exact moment. His artwork, commissioned internationally by private collectors, can also be found at the Contemporary Fine Arts Gallery in LaJolla, CA.

Krakowiak’s books are an invitation to participate in his artwork and share in his passion for the animal kingdom. Described as a “feast for the eyes” by the Virginia Quarterly Review, Africa: An Artist Safari was the recipient of the prestigious 2008 Ben Franklin Award for large format cover design and Best First Book for nonfiction.

As a motivational speaker, Krakowiak weaves stories of his travels over the past decade throughout Africa. With unscripted adventures such as facing bull elephants and lions only feet away, audiences leave inspired to step out of their comfort zone and experience life head-on.

Krakowiak often demonstrates his art techniques using dye on silk to paint wildlife while sharing stories at zoos and museums across the country.  He lives, paints and writes in Scottsdale, Arizona.
